Little Kioloa -
The vessel "Little Kialoa" was designed from a 30-percent tank test
model plug of "Kiola V," a Maxi World Champion during the 1985-1988
period. The "Kialoa" crew built the boat in Antibes, France,
in 1986. The hull contruction is composite and should be
considered strong for its size.
The hull
construction is frowm a male jig, using a composite method of FRP
(fiberglass) and core. Upon completion of the hull, it is
removed from the jig' the frames, bulkheads, and decking, which are
of the same type of construction, are then installed, which give the
vessel its rigidity and stiffness. The keel is then installed,
externally thru-bolted. The main
operations center is from a tiller in the cockpit, with more than
adequate sailing paraphernalia in the adjacent area. There is
a deck on the port and starboard sides of the cockpit leading
forward for sail handling, anchoring, or other uses with a foredeck
hatch which gives access to the forward compartment. The
carbon fiber mast is supported with stainless steel wire standing
rigging and there is Spectra running rigging. This vessel is
set up for competitive, day sailing and comes with sails in very
good condition. The trailer is also included. Boat is
located in Long Beach, CA Price -
