Our annual Panthers at Sea program took place on Saturday, May 12! A huge thanks to the 12 volunteer skippers and volunteers from Shoreline YC, Seal Beach YC, Long Beach Singles YC, and Alamitos Bay YC, along with members of the Blue Gavel and the Long Beach Marina Boat Owners Association for making this event a huge success!

A special shoutout to our board member James E. Townes, co-chair of this year’s event!

Feedback from the event:

"I really enjoyed my experience in Panther at Sea. I learned how to do simple things like pulling some rope for the sails. I also learned a little about the captains and about the different things in the ocean."

"I did enjoy myself, felt very at peace. I learned that on the boats there are the wind meters to keep the sail aligned with the wind speed."
Student
"I would like to tell them thanks for everything from showing us a little about managing a boat to all the food and snacks they provided us with. I would just like to thank them for giving us an opportunity to participate in this event."
